AEGEAN, the largest airline based in Greece, will have its largest-ever schedule this winter, with 118 destinations and 157 routes to 44 countries. The 2023/2024 winter schedule will expand flight paths between Greece and Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Balkans.
More European Flights to Greece
AEGEAN’s 2023/2024 winter schedule will have routes from Athens to Bristol and Birmingham, Malaga, Bilbao, Tallin, Riga, Tunisia, and Barcelona from Thessaloniki. Part of the goal is to expand the tourism season, and also to increase how many flights go from Greece to well-known destinations.

More Winter Routes
Pepi Stamatis, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer of Network and Revenue said that the new update will add nine new routes and the addition of three new countries – Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, and Moldova. And in some cases, 7 summer routes will simply continue to operate in the winter, for the first time ever.
Stamatis stated, “We continue to offer our passengers new options and travel experiences, investing in the expansion of our network with new destinations in the winter season.” The 2023/2024 winter schedule is 15 percent larger than last year and offers more than 800,000 seats in total compared to 2022.

New Connections to Greece
From Athens, travelers on AEGEAN will be able to fly to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Luxor, and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, Innsbruck (Austria), Bratislava (Slovakia), Baku (Azerbaijan) and Chisinau (Moldova). Uniquely, from Thessaloniki, you will be able to fly directly to Cairo, which was not possible before.
The route to Dubai is one that Stamatis is especially proud of. She said that the Athens-Dubai route will operate six times a week – every day of the week except Thursdays.

Special Charter Flights from Rhodes
AEGEAN will operate special charter flights from Rhodes in cooperation with a foreign tour operator. The program will open 35,000 available seats to 22 European destinations in 8 countries. It will last from October of 2023 to May of 2024.
AEGEAN’s Big 2023 Summer
AEGEAN had a very strong summer in 2023 and now has its largest-ever summer flight program. Between January and September of 2023, AEGEAN carried 11.9 million passengers, which is 30 percent more than the same time span in 2022.
The 118 destinations where AEGEAN will fly in the winter of 2023/2024 include 31 in Greece and 87 abroad. This is a 23 percent increase from 2022.
