Interview with Outside Founders
We sat down with Eva Papadimitriou, Outside’s founder, to find out more about their unique approach.
1. What is Outside Landscape Architecture‘s Philosophy?
Eva shared that the philosophy of Outside is based on human beings, where the human is the protagonist. The key is respecting what was once in the area, and to improve the quality of life of those who live there.
2. What is Your Hope for the Future of the Company?
Eva believes that the practice should adjust itself to new circumstances, such as climatic change, lack of water, etc). She also shared that the hope for the future is to collaborate well with other faculties like the engineers. It’s important, in her eyes, for talented young people with dreams and creativity to be involved in projects. In the long run, this process will give back to the project, especially when there is good collaboration. The most important thing, though, that Eva expects, is adjustments for sustainability, like designs for efficient water consumption, re-enforcement of biodiversity, etc.
3. What are Your Expectations for the Future of Landscape Design in Greece?
Eva expects that landscape architects will get more known in Greece. Everything will become more organized and more planned, with a respect for the agricultural land moving front and center in the design process.
