Location
Ancient Epidaurus is a seaside village in Greece and one of the most important archaeological sites of the country. It’s an area of mainland Greece which is found in the Peloponnese region. A charming fishing place with a couple of small beaches and fish taverns. It covers all basic needs such as commercial shops, mini market, cafes, restaurants, pharmacy, etc. that operate throughout the year.

It is famous for the Ancient Theatre with its amazing acoustics and a few steps from the Ancient Theatre is the Sanctuary of Asklepios, a very popular healing center in antiquity. The Archaeological Museum hosts many interesting exhibits from excavations on this site. Also, it’s a nice region to enjoy relaxing family holidays with many nice trips to make. Many nice villages and beaches can be found at close distance to the ancient site and the region can also be combined with road trips to Nafplio, Mycenae, and Porto Heli.

The driving route to Athens is approximately 124km, where the Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) is located!

• Since the summer of 1998, the events of the Musical July have been held at the Little Theatre of Epidaurus.
• The famous Epidaurian Festival, presently Athens Epidaurus Festival, began in 1954 and it is held every summer with famous ancient dramas or modern plays.
• Alongside the musical performances, the Agrotourism Fair is organised at the port of Old Epidaurus, an exhibition of products of the Epidaurian Land.
