Where did Elxis travel in June? Elxis’s team traveled thousands of kilometers in total. With offices in Thessaloniki, Crete, and The Netherlands, and a network of properties spread over 50+ towns spread all over Greece, Elxis’s team is always moving around to serve the needs of our clients.

Who is Kostas?
Kostas Rakitzis is a legal advisor in the Elxis Legal department. He has been an active attorney for 30 years, with extensive court experience. Through his collaboration with National Cadastre Offices, he is an expert in the legal process of buying and selling homes in Greece.
A people’s person himself, he enjoys meeting clients, understanding their needs and expectations, and guiding them through the process. Within the Elxis team, he is the person who travels the most to different parts of Greece, providing a warm and trustful experience for the acquisition of clients’s dream homes.
The summer months are some of Kosta’s busiest times of the year. We follow his travels during June to Crete, Athens, and the Peloponnese.

June 4: Kostas Travels to Crete
Kosta’s first stop in June was to Crete, to the town of Sitia — a coastal town in eastern Crete. Sitia and nearby Piskokephalo are the homeland of the poet of “Erotokritos”, Vincenzo Kornaros. Erotokritos is known as an epic love song with 10,000 lines.
Sitia has a small airport (named after Vincenzo Kornaros), which connects it to Athens airport, the Aegean islands, Preveza, and several cities abroad. The larger airports of Crete in Chania and Rethymno will have more connections, while Sitia has more flights in the summer months.
Kosta comments that “the town has a nice seafront and other nice beaches and villages that can be visited in the area.”
About Crete
Crete is referred to with the nickname “island of the gods.” The famous Greek island is known for its history, its welcoming people, its picturesque landscapes, and high quality of life. It seems like everyone is always in a good mood, even when there is a disagreement.
Crete has a wide variety of landscapes that are ideal for anyone who loves the outdoors. On the coast, you will find golden sand beaches. In the mountains, you will find traditional villages and scenic views. The island of Crete also has ancient ruins, gorges with steep cliffs, and a network of caves.

June 5: Kostas Travels to Athens
Kostas gave one adjective to describe his journey to Athens: “Hot”. Walking on the main streets of the city was uncomfortably warm, so Kostas took refuge in an arcade with a great lunch spot — one which was known for its characteristically warm Greek hospitality. Kostas comments on the quality of the food, which “included very nice meatballs, salad, deliciously fried potatoes and white wine.”
About Athens
Standing out in the city center both visually and architecturally, the Acropolis is perhaps the most vivid reminder of the heritage and culture which make Greece so special. The architects were Iktinos and Kallikrates, and the main function of the temple was to shelter the statue of Athena, which was made out of gold and ivory. The Parthenon attracted a total of three million visitors in 2022 alone.
The historic city is full, however, of hidden gems that you might walk straight past if you didn’t know about them. Athens is filled with terrific tavernas, hike opportunities (like Lycabettus Hill) and local art experiences.

June 6: Kostas Travels to Argos
Argos is a town in the Peloponnese, about two hours drive from Athens. Kostas traveled to Argos from Athens to sign a contract. The area is known for its historic UNESCO Sites – namely neighbouring Nafplio, which is a very beautiful coastal town. In Nafplio, Kostas had lunch with good friends, which included fresh shrimps, squid, and a nice salad, accompanied by tsipouro.
About Nafplio
Nafplio was the first capital of Greece, and it is known for its old town, narrow alleyways, delicious Greek food, and its seafront promenade. One of the must-visit sights in Nafplio town is the medieval castle on the hill overlooking the old town. It takes 999 stairs to reach the top of the Palamidi Castle.
Nearby to Nafplio are a range of beaches, both with pebbles and with sand. The Argolic Gulf waters are pristine and clear and are easily explored if you have a rental car. Many of them are unknown to some tourists and offer a serene escape. The further down the coast you go, the closer you get to the Porto Heli development, which is becoming increasingly popular for international tourists.
