Association De Jonge Balie Zwolle Visits Elxis in Thessaloniki
On an overcast morning in early November, the Elxis offices in Thessaloniki were treated to a pleasant surprise. A group of 22 young Dutch lawyers from the Association De Jonge Balie Zwolle were visiting Thessaloniki for four days to be introduced to the law system in Greece. It was busy Friday morning after the team’s usual morning coffee when the doorbell rang and a steady stream of fresh-faced, well-dressed young professionals came in one by one. The meeting was a welcome change to the usual fast pace of the Thessaloniki office. The office felt fuller (and taller) than ever before.

Among his possessions were an entire apartment building in New York, a Greek national airline, and the Greek island of Skorpios. Perhaps his best-known possession was his yacht Christina O, one of the most glamorous private yachts ever built. This was his private palace where he threw parties for the rich and famous.

Angelina Jolie is currently in Greece for the filming of Maria, a movie about the life of Greece’s famous opera singer, Maria Callas. This Hollywood actress was seen in Pyrgos in the Peloponnese a few days ago at the Apollo Theater. A few scenes were being shot there, and then Jolie moved to the town of Katakolo, where the Christina O yacht was waiting for her.

New Ticketing System at the Acropolis
The Acropolis has a new ticketing system starting on the 4th of September. The new system is designed to reduce lines and waiting times, and is currently in the pilot phase until next April. In 2023, in the peak months of July and August, the Acropolis had 23,000 visitors per day. So, the need to control the crowds is obvious.
