Petalouda House

Part of a small Cycladic-style development, the house sits just above Schinontas Bay, on the eastern side of Asytpalaia.

Astypalaia sits between the Cyclades and the Dodecanese, and its whitewashed Chora climbs a hill to a Venetian castle, with windmills along the ridge. Schinontas lies on the island's eastern arm, close to the village of Analipsi, also known as Maltezana, with tavernas, small shops, and its own beaches. Chora and the harbour at Pera Gialos are a short drive west.

Life here follows the season. Most tavernas and shops open from May to September, and many close from October until spring. A car helps you reach Chora, Livadi, and the island's more remote beaches.
