The four villas are designed in the ‘cave’ style, featuring green roofs. Cave villas offer a highly bioclimatic living environment, naturally insulated by the earth to maintain stable indoor temperatures throughout the year. This results in significantly reduced energy needs for heating and cooling, enhanced thermal comfort and a more sustainable way of living. By working in harmony with the natural landscape, cave architecture minimises environmental impact while delivering a serene, efficient and exceptionally comfortable home.

Across the project, the layout is designed around everyday indoor–outdoor living. The open-plan kitchen and bedrooms flow straight onto the terrace, keeping the sea view present from the moment you step inside. All bedrooms and the kitchen-dining area remain oriented toward the outdoor living area and the view. The terraces are shaded by generous pergolas for day-to-night outdoor dining and lounging. Landscaped spots add a discreet architectural finish that supports privacy and a sense of connection to the surroundings.

A separate laundry room keeps practical use discreet and organised. Atriums bring daylight and airflow into inner areas, including bathrooms, so the villas stay bright and fresh.

Mariou is a peaceful village overlooking Plakias, known for its panoramic sea views, traditional taverna, and quick access to some of Crete’s best beaches, including Damnoni, Schinaria, and Souda.
