Glarokavos lies on the southern tip of the Kassandra peninsula, between Pefkochori and Paliouri. A narrow channel links the lagoon to the sea and shelters a small harbour used by local fishing and private boats. Beside it, a long sandy beach backed by pines has beach bars and, in summer, a fish taverna. Pefkochori, a few minutes by car, has a seafront promenade with tavernas, cafés and shops, and Hanioti and Paliouri are close by. Kassandreia has larger services, including the area's main health centre. Thessaloniki is about an hour and a half away, making the house practical for long weekends and summer holidays.
