Architecture in Greece

Omniview Design was founded in 2013 by architects Dimitri Tsigos, John Tsigos, and property entrepreneur Miltos Kambourides. Their goal was to integrate design and development capabilities into one service. This hybrid of design and development together makes Omniview capable of making clients’ visions become a reality.   Omniview is based in Athens and hopes to start larger-scale projects both here in Greece and also abroad. They are involved in many parts of the market: residential, hospitality, and commercial.

We sat down with wine enthusiast and author Frederiek Lommen, whose expertise on Greek wines “stems” (no pun intended) from her extensive travels in Greece. Her book “Druiven en droesem, een reis langs Griekse wijngaarden” is gaining popularity among Dutch readers. In this article, Lommen shares her quick tips for first-time visitors to Greece, and what Greek wines they should know about.

Hydra is an island close to Athens, only about an hour away by ferry. Like some of the neighboring islands in the Sporades (Skiathos, Skopelos, and Alonissos), it does not allow cars. Transportation is primarily by donkey. As a result, the island has retained its charm and does not suffer from the noise pollution of nearby islands. UNESCO has voted Hydra as the “BEST PRESERVED ISLAND OF THE MEDITERRANEAN” because of its efforts to preserve both its buildings, its heritage, and its nature.
