Right now, Greece has a handfull of 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole course. The golf courses in Greece include:
- Peloponnese: There are 4 championship level golf courses in the Peloponnese. They are all part of the Costa Navarino development and are the most world-class courses in Greece. The newest course is being built in Kilada in the Eastern Peloponnese as part of the KILADA development.
- Athens: An 18-hole world-class course in Glyfada, easily reachable from the city center.
- On Rhodes: An 18-hole golf course in Afandou, which was designed by Donald Harradine, a famous golf-course architect.
- Corfu: An 18-hole golf course in the beautiful Ropa Valley.
- Crete: A 9-hole golf course in Elounda, and an 18-hole course in Hersonisos that was recently renovated.
- Halkidiki: A world-class 18-hole golf course that is found in the Porto Carras Grand Resort. Major international championships are hosted here.
Costa Navarino – Peloponnese
Costa Navarino is definitely the best location for golfing in the Peloponnese, and possibly in all of Greece. The resorts are renowned for their high level of service, and visitors come from all over the world to golf here. The four courses in the area are all within 13 kilometers: The Dunes Course, the Bay Course, The Hills Course, and the International Olympic Academy. Corfu Golf Club
Corfu Gold Club is found in Ropa Valley and was designed by Donald Herradine, a famous golf-course architect. The course is one of the best in Greece and perhaps in Europe, and it is a destination for international players. The course has a variety of lakes and streams, and is lined with trees. Corfu Golf Club is open both in summer and in winter.
Glyfada Golf Course – Near Athens
Glyfada is an upscale neighborhood in the Athens suburbs. The course has 18 holes and was opened in 1966. From that point on, it has hosted international golf events and is one of the most green courses in Europe. The landscape is stunning and many golfers like to admire the view when on the course.
Porto Elounda Golf Course – Crete
The Porto Elounda Golf Course is a nine-hole par-three course on Crete. Each hole has different tee-boxes, and it is a course that beginners can play. It is possible in Porto Elounda to set up a lesson with a professional golfer to improve your golfing skills. Once you “graduate” from Porto Elounda, the Crete Golf Club is only a 30-minute drive away.

On the island of Crete in Hersonissos, the Crete Golf Club is different from all the other courses in Greece because it is a desert course. Surrounding the course are rolling Cretan mountains. The Crete Golf Club has challenges for players of all skill levels and a wealth of luxury hotels in the area to host their golfers.
Afandou Golf Course – Rhodes
On Rhodes island, you can find the Golf View Hotel Course in the village of Afandou. The course is unique because it is close to the Mediterranean Sea and can be combined with a day at the beach. The course was also designed by the world-famous architect, Donald Harradine.
Hotel Porto Carras Golf Course – Halkidiki
Hotel Porto Carras is found in Halkidiki in northern Greece, east of Thessaloniki. Hotel Porto Carras Golf Course is known as a paradise for golfers who want a high standard. The Mediterranean weather makes it ideal for year-round playing. When not on the course, you can stay at the luxury hotel, just a short walk away. The holes are placed over a five-kilometer stretch.
Kilada Country Golf & Residences (Coming Soon)
Greece’s newest course is in the Porto Heli area of the Peloponnese in southern Greece. Construction started in 2020, and the course is set to open in late 2024. Jack Nicklaus designed the course, and it is part of a larger development led by Dolphin Capital Investors, including a hotel, sport and leisure facilities, and luxury resort residences.
The development is spread over 500 acres on a hilly area and it has panoramas of the Mediterranean Sea. The main selling point of the development is the golf course. The first phase of the development will feature a beach club, 90 home lots, and many townhouses and apartments.
The town of Kilada is a fishing village and the area features open hills, ancient ruins, mountain biking, and sailing. The development is advertised as “a place where you can do anything you want. Or nothing at all.”
