Mouresi is located on the eastern side of Mt. Pelion, approx. 4 km north of Tsagarada, at an altitude of 310 m above sea level. Built on the lush northern slope of a ridge rising above the Kissos Stream, it offers nice views of Kissos, Agios Dimitrios, Agios Ioannis, and the Aegean Sea.
At the foot of the slope lies Damouhari, a charming hamlet and Mouresi’s pride, once the natural port of northeastern Pelion. The small bay on the left remains a quiet port where fishing boats lazily sway on the waves, while its twin has become a peaceful, pebbly beach.
The heart of Mouresi is its flagstone-paved central square, shaded by large trees and home to the beautiful Holy Trinity Church, with its intricately carved altar screen. Although small, the village offers several—and renowned—dining options, catering to all tastes and budgets, as well as a bakery butcher’s shop, grocery store, and two mini markets.
Mouresi is an all-season retreat just an hour and a half from Volos, Greece’s fifth-largest city. In winter, when Pelion is blanketed in snow, adventure seekers can visit the Agriolefkes Ski Center in Chania. Here, people from all parts of Pelion and the town of Volos come together to enjoy winter sports. Here, one can enjoy a truly unique experience: skiing with sea views.
