Introducing the Elxis Documentary Series: Stories of Greece’s Most Beautiful Homes
At Elxis, we have always believed that a home is more than bricks, concrete, and elegant design. Behind every remarkable property lies a story, one shaped by the land, the people who envisioned it, and the architects who brought it to life. Today, we are excited to share the first step of a new journey: the launch of the Elxis documentary series on our YouTube channel, beginning with our debut feature on the stunning Pure C estate in Crete. Greece is home to extraordinary architecture. From timeless stone craftsmanship to bold contemporary design, each residence, whether perched above the sea or nestled among olive groves, tells a unique story. Our mission with this series is simple: to highlight Greece’s most exquisite homes and tell the stories behind them. Through these documentaries, we look beyond the typical presentation of a home. We explore the ideas, collaborations, and inspirations that give each villa its unique identity. These series aim to offer genuine, valuable content to our audience while showcasing the captivating beauty of Greek architecture today. We want to go deeper than the typical presentation of a villa. Beyond layout, features, and amenities, we explore: - The concept and philosophy behind the design - The collaboration between the homeowner and the architect - The materials, textures, and inspirations that shaped the home -The cultural and natural setting that gives each villa its character - This is a dialogue between creators, owners, environments, and ideas. Why We Began with Crete
The series begins in Crete, a place where history, landscape, and identity blend effortlessly. Its rugged coastlines and warm, earthy palettes create the perfect backdrop for architectural storytelling. OurThe Story Behind Pure C
In 2022, a Belgian couple contacted Elxis seeking second-home options in Greece, with a particular focus on Crete. While on their quest, the couple realised that their perfect property did not exist yet. They decided, then, to build it themselves. With the expertise and careful guidance of Elxis, the owners of Pure C have built a one-of-a-kind villa. Elxis helped in locating the building plot, preparing the paperwork and assisting the owners with a range of technical issues that made all the difference.
The name “Pure C” originates from the word “sea”, due to its stunning sea view, and it also fits perfectly with “Pure Comfort” or “Pure Crete”.
Looking Ahead
With Pure C as our starting point, we are opening a broader conversation with architects, creators, and homeowners across Greece. Our goal is to uncover the ideas, emotions, and craftsmanship that breathe life into extraordinary architecture. This series is a celebration, not just of homes, but of the people, dreams, and landscapes that shape them. We invite not only our community of clients, but anyone who loves great design and authentic storytelling to contact us and join us on this journey through Greece’s finest homes. You might also like

Akrokeramo: The Timeless Beauty of Greek Roof Ornaments
Imagine standing before a grand neoclassical building in 19th-century Athens, your eyes tracing its stately columns and pediments. At the roof’s edge, intricate tiles—akrokerama—capture your attention, adorned with motifs of anthemia, acanthus leaves, or even mythical creatures like the Gorgon Medusa. These are not mere decorations; they are heirs to an ancient tradition dating back to the temples of classical Greece. Functional yet exquisite, akrokerama protected rooftops from wind and rain while deterring birds and snakes, their beauty matched only by their ingenuity.
Today, these architectural jewels tell a story of continuity, artistry, and cultural pride, bridging the ancient and the modern in a uniquely Greek way.
