Location
On the slopes of Mt. Ziria (or Kyllini), at an altitude of 900 m., and surrounded by a black pine and fir forest, the village of Velina existed during the Venetian census of the area in 1700AD. Although secluded and tranquil, the village is centrally located in northern Peloponnese, just 25 km from the highway connecting Corinth (and Athens) with Patras, thus offering easy access to most sights and beaches along the peninsula's northern coast. The area is brimming with history and archaeological sites, the most prominent of which is the archaeological site and museum of Ancient Corinth, home to the glorious Apollo Temple erected in 550 BC.
