Pelion Gate House

Ano Volos marks the start of the climb into Pelion, and this stone-built maisonette sits in Agios Georgios, one of its older quarters, along the road leading up to Portaria. Built in 2004, it offers 114 sqm of living space with a view, on a 130 sqm plot.

The house is arranged over 3 levels, connected by an internal staircase, and offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The spacious living room features a fireplace. Two kitchens make it easy to give family or guests their own level. A veranda and a garden extend the living space outdoors, and the west-facing orientation brings in the afternoon and evening sun. Location - distances

Ano Volos is the historic upper part of the city, a spread of older quarters such as Agios Georgios, Anakasia and Agios Onoufrios where Pelion-style stone houses and narrow lanes sit alongside newer homes. The Theophilos Museum in the Kontos mansion at Anakasia is nearby, and the traditional villages of Portaria and Makrinitsa lie just up the mountain road.
