Lesvos Village Home

Perched on the hill in Mesotopos, a scenic village on the Greek island of Lesvos, this village home has been carefully preserved to provide a family with an authentically traditional yet practical summer retreat.

The Home

This detached home is located at the entrance of the village and it’s consisting of two floors, covering a total area of 158 sqm. Unlike more recent building styles, it is made up of separate elements, as the ground part has been constructed entirely with traditional techniques using locally sourced stone. The upper part has a more recent look.

Inside, simple smooth finishes provide cooling respite. On the ground floor (81 sqm) there is a living room with a dining room, a bedroom, a WC with a shower head and a storage room under the staircase. The kitchen exits to the backyard where there is a storage room and a built-in oven. A traditionally designed space for everyday use as well as extended family gatherings. Endless summer moments await you!

The upper part (77 sqm), is connected through an internal wooden staircase. Upstairs there are 3 large bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes, and a terrace providing ample views to the sea and the mountains. These rooms are decorated with wooden floorings and ceilings. A large bathroom with bathtub and washing machine is serving their functionality.

The home has oil-fuelled central heating and A/C units. On the ground floor there is also a fireplace.

Location

Lesvos is a lovely island in the North-Eastern Aegean. Having a long history and rich tradition, Lesvos mostly attracts families and travelers who want private holidays. Packed with olive groves and mountains, Lesvos island boasts a wonderful setting.

Furthermore, it’s enriched with many picturesque villages! Mesotopos is a village of West Lesvos, at a distance of 8 km from the well-known Eresos. Eresos is the tourist capital on this side of Lesvos. You will find a nice mixture of traditional and contemporary bars, restaurants, nightclubs and shops – everything for a great day or night out!

In close distance there are plenty of beaches. The only thing you’ll want to do is to run barefoot in the sand and dive into the water.

• Chrousos Beach – The ultimate sanctuary, a great haven of serenity for faithful worshipers of the sea. Chrousos Beach has remained nearly unchanged after 30 years.
• Kaloni Beach – A truly mystical rite, and you’ll count your blessings if, when the fishermen get back to the port of Skala, you taste the wide sardine variety. Literally, every tavern there is worth its name!
• Tavari Beach – Located in a semi-circular bay, flanked on both sides by low cliffs. In Tavari you can relax both body and soul.
• Podaras Beach – Located at the volcanic side of Lesvos, with spectacular rock formations and a breathtakingly beautiful coastline.

Last but not least, you”ll be able to taste, anytime, the best kind of ouzo, Plomari. The only things you need are nice local treats, good company, straight talk and the sound of the sea. Just remember the rule “Water, yes, but no ice.”
