We had something special to celebrate with our family and were looking to rent a dream villa somewhere in the Mediterranean. Not at all having the idea of buying a villa abroad, we saw Villa Sophia for rent on the island of Lefkada.
After contacting the owner we heard that the villa was for sale as well. We became very enthusiastic about this great location and the beauty of the beautiful multi-faceted green island of Lefkas. After some resignation, we said to each other, if we do not do something now, we might regret it later.
Via the Second Home Fair in Utrecht, we contacted the Greek/Dutch mediation agency Elxis and asked them to assist us in the entire buying process. From the first day Vangelis and Giorgos made us feel so confident and without their professional assistance we would not have dared to buy. There are so many complexities involved in Greece and with the expert help of Elxis you are completely relieved of them. The Greek/Dutch translation of the contract of sale, among other things, gave us a very secure feeling.
