Since 1992 we have been enthusiastic visitors of Greece. Every year we visited Greece at least once or twice. On one of the many islands, but also on the mainland. So you can call us real Greece lovers. Whenever we were in Greece, we dreamed of having a house in Greece ourselves one day.
In 2009 all the lights were on green for us to finally start looking for our dream house in Greece. From the beginning, it was clear to us that we had to involve experts in this field. This to avoid all kinds of problems and to make sure everything went smoothly.
We knew Elxis from the internet, from working with them and from the Second Home Fair. We had gained such a good impression of Elxis that we went to their office in Utrecht in April 2009 with our list of requirements and wishes. There we had a very good and pleasant conversation with Vangelis Nastos. He took all our requirements and wishes and started to search for our dream house.
When we went on holiday for 6 weeks in May 2009 to our preferred area on the Peloponnese, Vangelis had already introduced us to a number of regional estate agents. From Elxis we received the necessary addresses and telephone numbers of the estate agents. So we set off.
Our first mission did not seem to succeed until we reached the last estate agent. Here we found our dream house, which fulfilled almost all our requirements and many of our wishes. A number of tough negotiations ensued between the very friendly and helpful Greek estate agent, the Elxis team and ourselves. We did not reach an agreement in Greece itself.
After finishing our holiday, the negotiations continued back in the Netherlands. After a few exciting weeks of negotiations, the deal was finally closed. All the work that had to be done at that time was perfectly taken care of by the Elxis team. Verification of ownership and destination, land register, notary, lawyer, banking, translations etc. etc.. Everything was arranged by Elxis. All our questions were given extensive attention. Even now we can come to Elxis with our questions.
We have experienced the guidance of Elxis as very positive, and can recommend Elxis to everyone. Of course this does not mean that you should not do your own preliminary work.
