Why Should I Go to IKEA in Greece?

A visit to the store can also be combined with a trip to the coast, which is not far from Karteros.

What Kind of Furniture Should I Look For in My Greek Home?

Durable and breathable materials for the warmer Greek climate are the best when choosing textiles and bedding. Cotton and linen ranges are excellent options for staying cool and comfortable during the summer months. Also, blinds and curtains can help control sunlight and temperature inside your home, which is great for the hot Greek summers. Think about using natural materials like wood and woven textures, which go well with the Mediterranean aesthetic.

When it comes to the heart of the home – the kitchen – you will want to have everything you need for preparing and enjoying meals, whether it’s a simple breakfast or a large gathering at your home in Greece. Don’t forget practical things like food storage containers, which are perfect for keeping local produce.

Living areas in Greece are also social hubs, and it’s good to have sofas, armchairs, and coffee tables to create welcoming and comfortable spaces for relaxation. Think about modular sofa options that can be changed to different room sizes. Lighting is also key, to create the right atmosphere in your Greek home, especially during the longer evenings.

What if I Want To Order Furniture Instead?

Do you need to order something for your new home, but you’re in a village and don’t have the time to drive to the nearest furniture store? Did you buy an off-plan home in Greece and need to furnish it quickly before you can move in? Want to have something delivered to the door of your Greek holiday home so that when you fly in from abroad, it will be waiting for you?

Skroutz might be the right choice. It’s an e-commerce platform that can ship just about anything to your home in Greece. If you’re used to Amazon in the United States or other large e-commerce sites in Europe, don’t expect quite as quick of a delivery. Delivery times depend on the seller (since many vendors are found on Skroutz) and often vary from two days to one week. The name of the company is inspired by Scrooge, who is a Charles Dickens’ character, and is known for being stingy, always wanting the lowest price for whatever he buys.
