Villa Perama
Description
This villa is located on the top of a hill, overlooking the “trade mark” of Corfu; The Pontikonissi islet, which is situated 250 meters away towards the sea. The villa is the first property that housed the Durrell family when they first came to Corfu. This was the villa that inspired the book “My family and other animals”, by Gerald Durrell.
The villa
The current owner has renovated the villa with a combination of modern and classical styles, and added a swimming pool as well. There are extensive paved areas around the home, providing plenty of useful space for outdoor living. The villa measures 260 sqm and features 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, of which 3 are en-suite.
The ground floor consists of an open plan dinning/living area with a fireplace and doors leading out into the garden and the swimming pool area. Double glazed windows, and central heating have been added after the renovation of the property, providing even more comfortable living.
On the same plot, there is a small complex comprised of 4 studio apartments, each one measuring 25 sqm, ideal to house friends and guests.
Location
There is a regular bus service from the area to Corfu town, at a 5 minutes walking distance from the villa. Perama has 2-3 restaurants, a mini market and at a 10 minutes walking distance you will find the Kanoni area, with the nice sea views and cafeterias.
The area is called Perama, and is just a few minutes drive from Corfu town.
