Kanoni Holiday Home

€ 240.000
2 bedrooms / 1 bathrooms / 81 m2

This holiday home will become your own gateway to the beautiful island of Corfu, to enjoy whenever you want and as much as you want. The property (81 sqm) is situated in Kanoni, one of the most popular and cosmopolitan peninsula in the periphery of Corfu town.

In more detail, the apartment consists of a spacious living-dining room with fireplace, a smoothly connected kitchen in a semi-separate space, two comfortable bedrooms with wooden wardrobes and a large bathroom. The front balcony provides natural light through the apartment. Even standing in the kitchen you can get pleasant views to the sea and the surroundings.

The property has been built in 2008 but got recently renovated in 2018. Light earthy colours and high quality construction standards were taken into account. It enjoys good insulation (double glazed windows, Alumil chambranles) while the central heating (fuelled by oil) makes the place proper for year round living. Outdoors, there is ample parking space.

Kanoni is the most photographed location of the island. It is situated 4 km south of Corfu town and is one of the places that every visitor to the island should see. It is located in a beautiful and privileged location with plenty of dreamy beaches. From Kanoni you will enjoy the most beautiful view of the island, as it faces two small islets rising from the sea; Panagia of Vlacherna and the famous Pontikonisi (its name means Mouse Island, due to its size and shape).

  • Islet of Vlacherna – Connected to Corfu through a small bridge, it is extremely picturesque and together with its surroundings it is the most famous landscape that for many decades has been the visual identity of Corfu worldwide. On the islet of Vlaherna there is a church with a tall bell tower, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, called Panagia of Vlaherna and built in the 17th century.
  • Pontikonisi – The first thing that every new visitor sees when approaching Corfu airport; it sits literally in the geographical center of the island, very close to the town, between Kanoni peninsula, Perama, and Benitses. It’s approachable via small boats that sail regularly from the beach below Kanoni and the Vlacherna island. This tiny island is a peaceful place, full of greenery and an ideal spot to relax and grab your coffee at the small cafe. On the top, there is the 11th century Byzantine Church of Pantokrator surrounded by dense vegetation, it remains open to the public all year round.

Corfu is far more than its trademark blue-hued seas and sandy coastline: you will be charmed by its Venetian grace. Stroll through the fascinating old town, admire historical sites, visit museums, hike across forested hills, walk around the traditional villages and indulge in hearty local dishes.

On the verdant northeastern coast, seaside villages worth visiting include upscale Agios Stefanos, insider-secret Kaminaki and minuscule Kalami. Furthemore, you will have endless time to explore the western and eastern coasts of Corfu. Α pursuit of small tranquil coves, ideal places to enjoy some refreshing dips. Just get active.

Corfu is known as ‘Kerkyra’ in Greek, a name derived from the nymph Korkira. In Greek mythology Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, falls in love with Korkira, kidnapping her and hiding her away on the island that now bears her name. Myth follows life, even Casanova fell for this island. Won’t you?
