Agios Dimitrios is a traditional semi-mountainous village in the center of the island, providing easy access to the island’s many wonderful beaches, as well as to the airport and Zakynthos city, the islands port and capital. The Bay of Laganas is the prime nesting ground for Caretta-Caretta sea turtles and those interested can visit the National Marine Park to learn more about these amazing creatures and the efforts for their conservation.
