Country home in Nafpaktos
Description
Enjoying an unobstructed view of the Corinthian Gulf and amidst lush vegetation, this Country Home is the ideal base for exploring the wonders of Central Greece and the Peloponnese.
The property is split into two distinct living spaces. Its ground floor comprises a 41 sqm guest studio, with a fireplace, kitchen, and bathroom. The apartment on the first floor is 77 sqm and offers an open-plan living room with a kitchen, two bedrooms, one bathroom, a walk-in closet room, and a storage room. An exterior lift facilitates access to the first floor of the cottage.
There are two storage facilities on the 2,263 sqm plot, a 19 sqm storage serving the ground floor guest house and a 17 sqm one serving the garden of the premises. The plot is flat on its lower side and amphitheatric from the middle up to its upper end, where the cottage is situated, thus offering majestic views of the sea and the beautiful “Skaloma” beach. The garden has lush vegetation which secludes the house, offering privacy and tranquillity to its residents.
Although connected to the water grid, there is also a borehole on the property, catering to the gardens. The property can be accessed both from the national road to its north, as well as from the beach on its southern side.
It should be noted that the building capacity of the plot has not been exhausted and offers potential for further development.
Location
The coastal village of Skaloma in Fokida is famous for its sandy bay with the paved promenade, a popular destination for those seeking to discover mainland Greece’s “unexplored” face. Worth visiting is the chapel of Panagitsa, set amidst many plane and eucalyptus trees. It is located near the bridge of Rio-Antirio, which connects central Greece with the Peloponesse and, indeed, the property enjoys the vista of the lit bridge when the sun sets. The picturesque fishing village Marathias is just 5 minutes by car, its beach being one of the most renowned in the region. To the west and just 15 minutes away by car, we come across Nafpaktos, a town characterized as a “traditional settlement” founded by the Dorians in 1104 BC. The castle, the Venetian port, and the quaint cobbled streets in the town’s centre will offer visitors a glimpse into Greece’s rich past, while the nearby Rio-Antirio bridge is a testament to its future.
